Tribute to Richard Sanders

I just received an email regarding tracks being recorded in Denver for my up coming CD "I'm Not Dead Yet" by Kevin Mannarino.  Kevin informed me that a mentor of ours passed away in August.  I'll include a link to a site that has a tribute to his life.

I first met Richard Sanders in 1979.  I lived in Denver, Colorado and my band Omega III needed to record a demo that we could send to Coffee houses and churches.  The recording studio was called SoundMark and the sound engineer's name was Richard Sanders.  Rich and I talked a bit and booked studio time for the following weekend.

There was just the three of us Kevin Mannarino, Cherilyn LeCrone & me.  We'd been together for some time so when we sat down to record most of the three or four songs were laid down in one take.  Rich was a bit impressed by that and liked our sound too.

When I went back a week later to get the mix Richard brought me into the board room with our mixed tape and long story short offered us a record deal.  The deal was nothing fancy but the experience was once in a life time.  Richard was 57.

Tacoma Rescue Mission January 23rd

I once again had the privilege to minister in music through Worthy Music Ministries at the Tacoma Rescue Mission last Saturday.  The above picture is wall paper on one of the walls in the eating area.

I was the first to sing and share what God has done in my life.

G-Write was up next and was one of the best Christian Rappers I've had the honor to share the stage with.

Brain & Bonnie Foxley closed the evening but were cut short due to time restraints.  It was unfortunate that they couldn't do an entire set but I look forward to hearing them again in the future.  They have a really tight band and great sound.

A Blessed time at Jammer's

Last Saturday night I was bless to once again share an evening in song with Dylan & Dulcinea Hatch.   They did the first set from 7:30 to 8:15 and touched the hearts of everyone at Jammer's with voices that could only be touched by God.

My set that evening was from 8:15 to 9 and I did a few new songs from my up coming CD "I'm Not Dead Yet".  My wife talked to Amy and got the okay for us to have our CD release party at Jammer's on April 24th @ 7:30.  I'll post more about the release party later.

We closed the evening hearing some great, I mean great, Sax and Keyboard from Michael (T-Soak) Carter.  It was a real thrill for me to hear his style of music Praising God.  I look forward to sharing the stage with him again.

Jammer's is the place to be so be sure and stop by Mon through Saturday.  They have GREAT Sandwiches.

Monroe MSU unit

Driving up to Monroe Saturday was blue sky and sun all the way.   It only takes a little over an hour to get up there but for some reason we always leave early and end up spending time looking around the town for an hour or more.

I can't explain how much of a thrill it is for me to sing, through Prisoners for Christ Ministries, to inmates in the different institutions they send me to.  My heart is blessed each time I sing.  I watch half of the inmates listening begin with a frown on their face and by the end of the set they have smiles and are more open to God's Spirit.

Also, don't miss this Saturday at Jammer's Jammin' Java & Gourmet Sandwich Shop.  Dylan & Dulcinea Hatch start of the evening at 7:30, I'll be up next and to close the evening will be T-Soak.
